NAME OF ARTIFACT: Alternative Instruction Communication & Coordination Emails
ARTIFACT DESCRIPTION:
This artifact includes email communication connected to supporting a student receiving Alternative Instruction during a long-term suspension. The emails show coordination among administrators, teachers, support staff, and the Alternative Instructor to ensure the student still had access to assignments, materials, and academic support while outside the school building. My role included coordinating communication, ensuring staff were aware of expectations, and supporting systems that kept the student connected to learning during his time away from school.

ARTIFACT REFLECTION:
This experience reminded me that students still need support and structure even when they are out of the building. I learned how important communication and follow-through are when multiple people are involved in supporting a student. It also reinforced for me that leadership is not just about discipline, but about making sure students continue to have opportunities, support, and access to learning even during challenging situations.
ARTIFACT CONNECTIONS TO CAS COURSEWORK:
The emails correspondences connect to EDA 712 because it focused on supporting diverse learners and making sure students continue receiving equitable support and access to education. It also connects to EDA 762, which emphasized building inclusive systems and supports for students with different academic and behavioral needs. In addition, this artifact connects to EDA 792 because it highlighted the legal and ethical responsibility schools have to continue providing educational services and support during suspensions.
ARTIFACT CONNECTION TO YOUR VISION:
This artifact directly aligns with my vision of creating schools where all students feel supported, connected, and valued, even during difficult moments. My vision emphasizes equity, relationships, communication, and the creation of systems that help students continue to grow academically and personally, regardless of their circumstances. It also reflects my belief that schools should work collaboratively with staff and families to make sure students do not fall through the cracks when challenges arise.
ARTIFACT IMPACT:
The email correspondences helped improve communication and coordination between staff members supporting the student during Alternative Instruction. It helped ensure the student continued to receive assignments, materials, and academic support while outside the school building. It also reinforced staff collaboration and showed students and families that the school remained committed to supporting student success, even during disciplinary situations.
